It’s Here! Skype to Lync Video

Most of us in the Lync community have been waiting for this for sometime now. The wait is over: Skype to Lync video is now available!

For this to work, the Skype user needs to be on the latest Skype for Windows client (7.0.85.100). When I tried updating the Skype client directly from the client itself, it didn’t update me to v7. I ended up going here to get the latest version.

Once installed, I was able to get calls between my Lync 2013 client and the Skype for Windows client:

If the Skype client isn’t in focus, you also get a handy video only view that floats above your other apps:
